14 Deadly Foods to Avoid

A lot of varieties and choices exist in the food world cheaply available to us, this makes it easy for us to make unhealthy choices with ease. It is so easy to start packing on pounds in a slowly, easy and unnoticed way, until it has accumulated and a lot of damages had been done in the body. Looking down at yourself and noticing a bulging belly you hardly recognize, a diet including plenty of high-fat foods contribute to fat growth around the abdomen and throughout the body.

Body fat causes a lot of life threatening conditions such as obesity and other related diseases. The development of numerous fat growth may result from the excess consumption of the following foods and we must try to avoid them:

1. Sodas

Common or diet soda do not benefit the body but contain a lot of calories. Common sodas are loaded with high fructose corn syrup, Fructose cannot be used by the body but it is easily stored in the body until there is a shortage supply of glucose in the body when it is converted to what the body can use-glucose. Studies found that people who drink sodas a day develop waistline compared to those who avoid drinking soda. Try as much as possible to take sparkling water at all times.


2. Cheese

Cheese contains a large amount of fat and is hard to digest which is a deadly combination as poor digestion causes weight gain. It is a fattening food. The most fattening food in the world is thought to be cheese fries. Cheese is seen to cause breast cancer, colic, digestive disorder and allergies among other things.




3. Food rich in Gluten

Foods rich in gluten are fattening and they are full of sugar and starch. The New Yorker reported that it was discovered that Gluten is a poison and believed to cause arthritis and asthma among other problems. It is seen as a threat to humanity.



4. Potatoes

Potatoes are found to be among the top food making people fat. Potato have fattening properties. Every serving of fries eaten in 1 day is linked to weight gain of more than 3 pounds, while eating an extra serving of potato chips led to a gain of 1.70 pounds.

5. Alcohol

Alcohol inhibits the body from burning fat, increasing the release of the cortisol which retains fat and breaks down digestive muscle. The loss of digestive muscle slows down metabolism making it easier to gain weight. Alcohol is seen to causes a decrease in levels of testosterone in men- a hormone that helps burn fat.

6. White Carbs

White rice, pasta, white bread and starches are fattening because they are foods with high glycemic index. A research suggests that such carbohydrates are a problem for people wanting to lose body fat. Studies show that consumption of the wrong carbohydrates creates body fat.

7. Saturated and Trans Fats

Saturated and Trans fats are bad fats, they increase the risk of developing certain diseases. They are fattening especially when they come in deep fried foods and baked goods.


8. Processed foods

Processed foods are over processed and are loaded with calories and almost no nutrients. Diet frozen and microwave meals are high in sodium and calorie rich fat to preserve flavor. Eating such foods cause you to retain water in your arms and legs, leaving you puffy. Research claims that a diet high in processed food increases the risk of depression. Processed meats such as lunch meats, bacon, sausage, hot dogs are high in calories, fat and sodium. 68% percent of bacon’s calories come from fat, almost half is saturated fat and every ounce has 33 milligrams of cholesterol. Too much salt leads to water retention and bloating. None of processed meat is considered safe to eat.

9. Artificial sweeteners

Research has also shown that one of the most popular artificial sweeteners cause surge of insulin as white carbohydrates because of sweetness detectors in the small intestine.

10. Flavored yogurts

 Flavored yogurts are high in sugars, artificial sweeteners, colors and flavors among other unsavory ingredients. It was discovered that certain brands of yogurt do not contain fruit as falsely believed, see in the diagram below:




11. Canned foods

 There are so many canned goods in the supermarket it’s hard to think they’re all bad for us. And while many contain healthy ingredients like beans or tomatoes, they harbor huge risks from all the chemicals in the lining of the can, namely BPA (bisphenol-A) and don’t be deceived by the BPA-free labels, either. Many of those contain other endocrine disrupting chemicals and a lot of salt.

12. Energy bars

They’re convenient, tasty and typically loaded with sugar, hexane-extracted protein and soy oils. You can achieve the same quick energy fix from a handful of nuts and a few pieces of fruit (fresh or dried). It is essential to make some time to bake your own energy bars where you can control the ingredients.

13. Donuts

Donuts are dangerous and never healthy. It is very tempting as it’s easy to let yourself binge and find more excuses to eat these empty calories.

14. White sugar

It is full of calories that sabotage healthy eating and prime your palate to crave sweets. The world is filled with people who are addicted to sugar. When your blood sugar is high you are high. When your blood sugar is low, you feel totally run out and exhausted and want more. Sugar has no minerals or vitamins, just a lot of fat building calories.
